The Area

Located in the Flathead Valley with countless rivers and lakes for recreation. The area boasts outdoor activities including: hiking, rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, snow skiing etc.

History

Canyon Foods was originally a drug store (Pennywise Drug) founded by Bill Krall during the construction of Hungry Horse Dam. Bill and Nonie operated the drug store until the 1970s. In 1979 Don and Sandy Yeates purchased the business and did a substantial addition making the facility into a grocery store with a drug store within.

Dan Petek acquired the location in 1988. He has operated the facility as a grocery store with an adjoining laundromat since then, 35 years as of 2023.
